Pre-Holiday Gift Giveaway

Last summer I was privileged to host a giveaway for a Beam N Read personal light. The Beam N Read light is a great tool for sewing, quilting or reading. This light has proved to be an excellent aid for those with low vision.

As we are starting to get ready for the Christmas season, a time when we share from our hearts and think of others, Beam N Read wants to help you get a head start for Christmas! They've created a fun Pre-Holiday Gift Giveaway campaign.

To enter this giveaway for a Beam N Read LED6 personal light, leave a comment on this post telling me who you would like to give an LED6 personal light to and why. Just let me know if it's your Mom, Grandpa, your child's teacher, or maybe an organization like a Senior Citizen center, a hospital, or your local library.
I'd really like to know who would benefit from this gift.

This giveaway will be open until Monday 11/14, when a winner will be chosen. Please be sure I have a way to contact you. If your settings do not allow me to reply to contact you, leave your email address embedded in your comment.

Here is the list of the blogs hosting this generous giveaway.
** If you would like to purchase a Beam N Read light, you will find it available at I Have A Notion. Kelly always has service with a smile :-)

I've wanted one of these lights for a long time. I would love it for working on my wool projects! Awesome giveaway. Thank you!

I would give the Beam N Read to my daughter who loves reading books in bed. That way she wouldn't disturb her husband by having her light on. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your great giveaway!

I would love one of these lights for either my husband or daughter. They play in our community band together and sometimes they need a light when the concert is at night.

I would like to give one of these light to my Dad. He gets in trouble with Mom because he likes to read at night and the table lamp wakes her up. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.

I would love to give this to my grandson...he suffers from a congenital eye condition that causes him to have very poor vision..when he reads or is on the computer he must have it 3 inches from his face to see. This light would make his eyes work much less..

I would like to give this light to my visually impaired 8-year-old granddaughter Emily. She was born with congenital cataracts, and now has glacoma. She is a sweety and can see well enough to make yo-yo's!

I'd love to give one to my Mom -- she and my dad go to bed at the same time, but she likes to read, and he likes to sleep! This would be fun for her to have an enjoy! :)

I would love to give this to my good friend who does ALOT of needlework. I know she would really use this ALL the time

I would have to give two of them if I gave one~ my Mom reads and does lots of hand sewing, she has eye problems and could really benefit from one. But then, so does my MIL, she reads a lot and has a degenerative eye disease. What a thoughtful giveaway!

Kim said...

I would give this to my son. He plays a lot at his desk and would like to have a desk lamp.

Snoodles said...

I would be sorely tempted to keep it for me, but would give it to my mom-in-law instead...at 89 she doesn't like to wear her glasses, and the Beam and Read would help her see better!

I need new eyes really..but this might do in the meantime!

What a great giveaway! I'd give it to my parents. They're both nearly 80 years old and both wear glasses. A nice bright light to read by would be a good gift.

Thank you for the giveaway. :)

I would gift the Beam and Read to my 10 year old daughter, who loves to read in bed and can never get her bedside lamp set “just right”.

I would give this to my husband. His eyesight isn't as good as it used to be. He has type 2 diabetes and glaucoma. Thanks for a chance to win one.

I would give this to my husband. It would be perfect for working on his cars in the garage!

This would be fantastic...I have a new laptop that has this ingenious tiny little light in it, that lights up the keyboard so you can surf in the dark - my husband is so happy that I'm not waking him with the computer anymore (I'm the night owl, he's early to bed, early to rise)...now if I had this, I could READ, too!!

I would give it to my DIL because she had eye damage a couple of years ago when she was in the hospital and nearly died. Someone dropped some kind of medicine in her eyes, and it had some lasting effects. That was the worst Thanksgiving Day ever because the doctors thought she was hemorrhaging behind her eyes. Thanks goodness for an eye doctor that knew what to look for!

LJ said...

I would give it to my best friend. She reads, sews, does some hand work and this would really be of great help.

Patty said...

I'd give it to my dad. I know he would put it to great use.

Pat said...

Hi! I'd give one to my husband cause he reads at night and wakes me up!

Annmarie said...

I have an 86 year old friend who still does hand quilting every night while watching TV. She could use better light so I'd gift the Beam & Read to her.

Rhonda the Rambler said...

OK to be honest I would like to give this to myself but that doesn't seem right. So...I think I would give it to my husband to work on things in his garage. His eyes are not what they used to be and he is always trying to hold the flashlight while working on things (usually for me).

Caro said...

Would love to give it to my daughter who does a lot of intricate knitting in a way too dark room:).

I would love to have one of these for myself for reading, stitching and sewing. With my eyes, lighting is everything when it comes to enjoying these things. However, more than that, I would love to have one to gift to the library at a new Veterans Nursing Care facility that just opened a year ago in our area. My hubby volunteers for the VA hospital but with winter coming, he didn't want to make the 45 min commute during our harsh Utah winters. So we visited this new Veterans Home to check into volunteering there and were overwhelmed with the surroundings they have provided for both the residents and their visiting families. They have separate wings for each branch of the military which the residents seem to love and each has it's own library. I think this kind of light would be a great addition to the library, to be shared by these men and women who gave so much. My hope is that if they receive some reading lights for the residents to check out with their books, they will realize the need and maybe we can get the seed planted to find a way to provide one in each room. Ya gotta start somewhere, LOL. Anyway, sorry I got carried away but I think that is where I would give this light if I won. It was the first place that came to mind anyway. Hugs...

Oh, I know who for sure: my mother. She used to do lovely handwork, but at a young age her eyesight has become very poor. This would help her with reading and well as stitching. THanks for the chance.

I have a quilt friend Terri, who has macular degeneration(and eye condition) and I would love to help her be able to see better!

I'd want one to give to my dad! He refuses to admit he needs glasses, and the extra light would at least help some!

viridian said...

I'd love one for myself, but I would give it to my mother inlaw. Her eyes are getting older and I know it would help her with her counted cross stitch projects.

Linda E in NM said...

I'd gift one to my husband so that he can see to read in our living room while watching his afternoon financial programs on TV (our living room faces north so tends to be pretty dark).
Thanks!

Donna Joy said...

My Mom needs it to do her hand sewing. She just can't seem to get enough light. Of course I would love to win one as well. Great for using when I hand applique. Thanks for sharing.

This would save me getting out of bed to hit the light switch! Love it!

Joannag said...

I'd love to win one of these little lights, but I promise to share it with my sweetie, since he and I both have weary eyes!

Thanks, Joanna

I'd love to gift this to my daughter. She enjoys reading in bed at night, but the lighting in her room is less than optimal. And since she lives in my house, I could always borrow it!

Anonymous said...

I would keep this for myself. I love reading in bed but dont like the overhead light on at night!

Pam said...

If I won, I would keep it for myself but share it :) I would love to see if it helped me be able to stitch again :)

MoeWest said...

I want one of these lights for me when I'm stitching or reading in bed, but I'm sure my husband would find them useful too and I wouldn't want him to be using mine all the time. Thanks for the giveaway.

Deb said...

I'd give it to me. My husband can't sleep with the light on very well, and I like to read in bed. I *could* give it to my husband, but that would be like Homer Simpson giving Marge a bowling ball...

Janet said...

I would love to give this to my husband. He is often up in the night restless and awake and this light would let him read without disturbing me.

I would give this light to my mom who is also a quilter. She hasn't complained about her eye sight but I am sure it would help her when she is sewing.

Connie Kresin Campbell said...

I would give this to my daughter so she could "give" it back to me. I have a hard time seeing at the sewing machine anymore and think that would really be helpful. Thanks!

I would give it to my darling Hubby! I "borrowed" his good light for quilting! Thanks for the chance.

Vesuviusmama said...

Oh man, would I have to give it away??? I've been wanting one for myself because I like to do hand work while I watch TV. We have a movie theater in our basement (we can never move because we will never finish paying for it!!!) but you can't really see the movie well with the lights on and I can't sew with the lights off! Therefore, I end up watching TV upstairs in the living room with an amazing THEATER in my basement going unused! This would be perfect! But, if I have to give it away, I'd give it to my 9 year old son who loves to read in the car on road trips.

Maria Teresa said...

I know it might sound selfish but I need that light so badly That i couldn't give it away if I won.

Apple Avenue Quilts said...

If I was to win, I must confess I would probably keep the light myself. However if I had an extra, I would give it to my niece. She used to do a lot of sitchery and has quit. I suspect do to not being able to see well at night. So it would be hers. Thanks for the chance on your giveaway!!!

I would like to give it to my husband. He is constantly working on things and keeping his hands busy. It would be nice for him working on things that he pays so much attention to detail on things. Thanks for a chance to win.

My mother 80 yy has made quilts since a young girl. She commented to me that seeing to hand sew and use her sewing machine is difficult in low light during the day and at night. Beam N Read could be a solution to her dilemma. Thanks for the chance to win "Beam N Sew", my name for the product, for my Mom.

I would give one to my aunt. She stitches and knits and it would help brighten that up. I'd like one too - I read in bed and can't find a good light to read with or even to stich with in the dark, while my husband is snoring next to me. I'm putting it on my Christmas wish list!

MJ said...

I would give it to my mom. She likes to knit and do puzzles and it would be helpful as it's harder for her to see these days.

ledamewood said...

I would like to give one to my husband. He likes dark rooms, but likes to read, this would enable him to do both. Then it would be handy for me to borrow for my handwork.

Hope i don't sound selfish, but I would give it to me. The older I get, the less my glasses seem to correct and I have found I need very good lighting for my needlework/knitting/quilting. I promise to take really good care of it.Great giveaway!

I would really like to have one of these for myself. I have only one very dim ceiling light in my quilting area and I have to keep taking things over to the window to see what I'm doing or if the color is what I think it is - it's that bad.

Nancy B said...

If I am the lucky winner, I would gift this to myself. I find that more and more I'm having difficulty reading and doing handwork in poorly lit places. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win.
